Song lyrics- The Malfunction Room

The Waterfall

There is a place, I remember well
The morning air and the mist that fell
on the ground.

And she would laugh as we walked out there
Through ghost gum trees and the misty air
all around.

Some sing of birds, the moon and trees.
Though there is beauty in such as these,
It's nothing like the beauty I recall
When we would lie together
Beside a waterfall.

I saw her eyes and what they told.
I held her hand and felt a cold
cruel bitter chill.

That last goodbye was barely heard,
I whispered low the hardest word
I ever will.

Some sing of birds, the moon and trees.
Though there is beauty in such as these,
It cannot touch the memory I recall
Of the one who lies forever
Beside a waterfall.

There is a place where I must go,
I knew not then but now I know
That tragic law.

It's not the earth nor the seven seas,
It lies within the mist and trees
Forever more.

Some sing of birds, the moon and trees.
There is no time to think of these
In thinking of the day when time will stall
And we will lie forever
Beside a waterfall.
